Traditional wedding of Laos you should know

The Laos traditional wedding has been around for generations and very important for younger generations to pass down, if not like anything else, the Lao tradition will die out.  All of the happiness comes from the love. The love between people and people, the love between people and everything around them. When 2 people decided to get married, this is a time they feel that their love should be turned into a new period, is the time for caring each other and bringing children up together. Another thing you have to know is that the wedding is not supposed to be held during the three months Khao Phansa from late July until late October. That’s why this procession has been slightly changed to suit modern lifestyles and sometimes the couple agrees on most of the details and they set the date to suit their busy lives. Nowadays many parents don't ask for anything so long because they think that their daughter’s happiness is more important than money. According to tradition, the new couple’s bed must be made by the mother of the bride or an older female who has a good family that means with a good husband and good children and who is not divorced, or a widow).

And in tradition, there is nothing as a honeymoon after the wedding is finished, but nowadays, the bride and groom can have a honeymoon if they wish. Before the ceremony starts, as I told above, the groom would arrive at the bride’s house with a parade — people following and some people singing a song.
